A herd of drama filled reality TV shows have already gained much popularity on streaming platforms, with a new one set to join the list.
Arabian Business previously reported on, ‘Real estate in Dubai: The best show Netflix never made’. Following a mass of reality TV shows released recently, including Dubai Bling and The Real Housewives of Dubai, the new show is set to air on UK’s Channel 4, tapping into the much favoured real estate market in the city.
The show is called ‘Made in Dubai’ which could be subject to change post-production. Produced and commissioned by Angel Eye Media, the show will provide an inside look into the city’s real estate buzz.
Real estate agents and managers from Dubai-based Betterhomes will feature in the show, taking viewers into the lives of realtors selling properties to the ultra-wealthy in Dubai.
The show is set to be filmed in the Betterhomes office in Business Bay as well as some other luxurious properties in Dubai.
In September, Arabian Business published a story revealing that estate agents in Dubai were posting adverts on property listings websites that championed the joys on buying an apartment on the Dubai Creek Harbour project – because it would feature, among other things, magnificent views of the Creek Tower, which was set to be tallest building in the world. However, work on this tower stopped two years ago, Emaar has removed all mention of it from its own website.
Lately, Dubai real estate, specifically the luxury property market has attracted international attention bringing in investments from Europeans, Russians and other overseas buyers.
Further details about the show or a trailer have not been released yet. Although these shows are intended to highlight the glitz, glamour, and riches of Dubai, audience feedback has been increasingly controversial and negative towards the ‘unrealistic’ portrayal of the city’s people and culture.
