Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence of the UAE, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi today at the beginning of his official visit to India.
During the meeting, Sheikh Hamdan conveyed greetings from President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan; Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai; and Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court.
He also expressed the UAE leadership’s wishes for India’s continued development.

Prime Minister Modi reciprocated with greetings to the UAE leadership and expressed hopes for the UAE’s ongoing progress.
The leaders discussed strengthening the strategic partnership between their nations, emphasising the importance of building on their established relationship.
According to a statement by the Emirates News Agency (WAM), Sheikh Hamdan “reaffirmed the UAE’s pride in the steady growth of its partnership with India, a relationship grounded in decades of mutual respect, shared interests, and a joint pursuit of progress. He expressed confidence that the next phase of cooperation would bring even greater gains across a range of strategic areas, including investment, trade, tourism, industry, infrastructure, logistics, energy, food security, advanced technology, artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and space. He noted that the partnership also covers vital sectors like healthcare, education, defence, and other key areas on both countries’ development agendas.”
The Crown Prince further acknowledged the Indian community’s contributions to UAE development and highlighted the country’s efforts to provide an inclusive environment with world-class infrastructure, a robust logistics network, and a flexible legislative framework.
He also praised India’s economic transformation under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership and emphasised the potential for evolving the bilateral partnership to address global challenges.
Both sides discussed the importance of leveraging the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement and Bilateral Investment Treaty to stimulate greater investment and joint ventures.
The meeting also covered regional and international developments, with both leaders affirming dialogue as the preferred approach to resolving disputes and maintaining stability.
