Emirates announced plans to introduce its latest retrofitted Airbus A380s with updated cabins, including Premium Economy, to Manchester and Milan routes.
The retrofitted aircraft will begin serving Manchester on the EK017/018 route from June 6, while Milan will receive the upgraded service on the EK091/092 route from July 1.
With this expansion, Emirates will increase its Premium Economy capacity to nearly 5,000 weekly seats in and out of the UK from June.
Manchester, Milan join Emirates’ growing Premium Economy network
The Manchester service will complement the airline’s existing premium offerings, which include four daily retrofitted A380s on the Dubai-London Heathrow route, the A350 operating to Edinburgh, and the soon-to-launch refurbished Boeing 777 scheduled for London Stansted from May.
Milan becomes Emirates’ second Italian destination to feature the airline’s latest cabins and Premium Economy seating, following the planned deployment of the A350 to Bologna later in June.
“These additions will expand Emirates’ network of retrofitted A380 destinations to 19 global points, underscoring the airline’s commitment to investing in the very best customer experience in the sky and adding more premium cabin options and choice across geographies,” the airline said in a statement on Wednesday.
By July, passengers from Manchester and Milan will experience the latest cabin features on the four-class A380 for journeys to destinations across Australasia and Asia including Sydney, Singapore, Osaka, Mumbai, Bangalore, and others.
The Premium Economy cabin on Emirates’ four-class A380 is positioned at the front of the main deck with 56 seats in a 2-4-2 configuration.
The seats offer “generous pitch and width for working and relaxing,” with features including in-seat charging points and a side cocktail table. The experience includes selected in-flight amenities, a curated menu, and beverage options, including the Chandon Vintage Brut 2016, exclusively available to Premium Economy passengers.
