Etihad Cargo, the freight division of Etihad Airways, has expanded its partnership with Chinese airline SF Airlines.
The carriers will increase flight frequencies between their main hubs in Abu Dhabi and Ezhou in China.
Starting July next year, Etihad Cargo will operate two flights per week between Abu Dhabi and Ezhou.
“By expanding this strategic partnership with SF Airlines, Etihad Cargo’s partners and customers will have greater access to strategic markets in China, the UAE, and destinations across Etihad’s global network. This ongoing collaboration will contribute to the broader economic and strategic objectives of both the UAE and China,” Stanislas Brun, Vice President Cargo of Etihad Cargo said.
Etihad Cargo expands China connectivity
This will link China to Etihad’s global network through its hub in the UAE capital. SF Airlines will add an extra weekly flight between the cities, taking the total number to five flights per week.
The airlines will also launch a new weekly service between Shenzhen and Abu Dhabi. Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport has been among the world’s top 20 airports for cargo volumes since 2021.
The additional flights between Ezhou and Abu Dhabi and the new Shenzhen route will provide over 200 tonnes more cargo capacity each week. Combined with existing flights, the partnership will offer 630 tonnes of capacity between China and the UAE.
“We are excited to announce that the cooperated routes between Etihad Cargo and SF Airlines will expand to six flights per week starting from July, as our two companies celebrate the one-year anniversary of our partnership,” Robert Zhang, Commercial Director of SF Airlines added.
