The UAE Embassy in Manila has called on its citizens to be cautious over unstable weather conditions caused by Typhoon Egay which has affected the northern and central parts of the Philippines.
Citizens are urged to follow safety instructions issued by relevant authorities and contact the embassy in case of emergencies.
Those who have not yet registered for the Twajudi service have been called on to do so. The service by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was set in place to facilitate communication with Emiratis abroad, assist them, and coordinate their repatriation in case of an emergency or crisis.
At least five people have been killed since the typhoon hit, causing flooding and landslides.
“Efforts to assess the full extent of the damage and provide necessary aid and relief to affected communities are underway,” the local government said, reported CNN Phillipines.
