IndiGo expands Middle East operations with new flights to Abu Dhabi and Muscat

The new IndiGo flights are to cater to the increasing demand between India and the Middle East

Abu Dhabi, Riyadh and Dammam could be among the Gulf destinations IndiGo will be planning to commence new or additional flights.

Indian airline IndiGo is to launch new direct flight services to Abu Dhabi and Muscat from the south Indian cities of Chennai and Hyderabad, in a bid to expand its Middle East operations.

The new services are slated to commence from March 26.

Vinay Malhotra, Head of global sales at IndiGo said the new flights are to cater to the increasing demand between India and the Middle East.

“These new connections will also support the medical students and tourists travelling to Muscat and Abu Dhabi,” Malhotra said.

The increased accessibility to the Middle East, well-known for its food, culture, and oil reserves, will promote both commerce and tourism, he said.

Operations of these flights will provide more options to customers planning vacations and business trips to and from the Middle East.

Muscat is another Middle Eastern city growing popularity with Indians for business opportunities and its tourist attractions, which include Mutrah Corniche, Grand Mosque Muscat, Royal Opera House Muscat, Yiti Beach and Bait Al Zubair.

Muscat is also known for its first-grade medical facilities and medical institutions, making it a top destination for medical students.
