The UAE Federal Tax Authority (FTA) has reported significant engagement from taxpayers and stakeholders in the initial phase of its extensive awareness campaign aimed at introducing the new tax regulations.

Launched earlier this year, the campaign focuses on corporate tax and aims to provide continuous knowledge support to relevant taxpayers, ensuring the seamless implementation of the tax.

In a statement, the FTA revealed that the first phase of the campaign comprised 48 workshops, both in-person and virtual, with an impressive total of approximately 13,600 participants, as reported by WAM.

These workshops catered to taxpayers from diverse business sectors and other stakeholders involved in the tax implementation process.

As part of the campaign, 39 virtual workshops were conducted, outlining corporate tax requirements and registration procedures in both Arabic and English. These virtual sessions were hosted on the educational platform launched this year on the FTA’s official website.

The first phase also featured nine in-person workshops conducted across all seven emirates. These workshops culminated in a session titled ‘General Principles on Taxation of Corporations and Businesses,’ held in Dubai this month, organised by the FTA in collaboration with relevant government and private entities.

FTA Director-General Khalid Ali Al Bustani expressed satisfaction with the success of the initial phase, noting the substantial interest and interaction from stakeholders. He emphasised the Authority’s commitment to engaging stakeholders through innovative channels, supporting voluntary self-compliance with corporate tax regulations.

Al Bustani stated, “The Authority is committed to reaching out to all stakeholders involved in implementing the tax system through various channels.” He highlighted the campaign’s goal of providing essential information, reducing the need for physical visits to the Authority’s headquarters, and ensuring continuous communication with business sectors.

“The Authority is committed to reaching out to all stakeholders involved in implementing the tax system through various channels,” he added.

The FTA plans to continue its awareness efforts with the second phase of the corporate tax campaign scheduled for 2024.
