Huge clouds of smoke billowed over the Palm in Dubai on Thursday morning as a fire raged through a construction site on the One Palm development.
No-one was injured in the fire, which started inside the storage area of the One Palm construction site, a spokesperson for Omniyat said.
Dubai Civil Defence quelled the flames around 20 minutes after arriving on the scene, he said.
“At 11am this morning a small fire broke out within the storage area of the One Palm development in Dubai,” a spokesperson for Omniyat said.
“Omniyat, the developers of the prestigious residential development on Palm Jumeirah, put into action their emergency procedure and Dubai Civil Defence brought the fire under control within 20 minutes.”
The statement added that the Dubai developers were grateful to Dubai Civil Defence for their swift response.
