Ras Al Khaimah Police’s Anti-Narcotics Department, in partnership with the Coast Guard Command of the emirate, has seized 103 kilograms of hashish on a fishing boat on the coast of Ras Al Khaimah.
The dealers were caught while attempting to smuggle the drugs, after Ras Al Khaimah police were alerted of the same.
The case was forwarded to competent authorities to finish legal procedures.
Major General Ali Abdullah bin Alwan Al Nuaimi, Commander-in-Chief of Ras Al Khaimah Police, also praised the efforts of the Coast Guard Command teams and appreciated their role in protecting the community.
“After receiving confirmed information about the smuggling attempt, a task force was set up,” said Major General Ali Al Nuaimi said adding “officers identified the suspects and arrested them on board a fishing boat.”
Further details about the suspects or when the drug bust took place have not been disclosed.
