The Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) issued a warning on Twitter about fake text messages being sent out under the names of major courier companies like DHL.
‘Beware!’ the post read, the authorities have observed fake messages claiming to be sent by courier companies, requesting recipients to click on links to initiate payment of delivery fees. The TDRA has taken necessary action by blocking the scam payment links and ceasing the source of the messages.
The TDRA urged the public to stay cautious and avoid clicking on or interacting with the links and ensure the authenticity of messages received before auctioning them by checking through the official websites or apps of the entities.
