The Emirati Talent Competitiveness Council (ETCC) has announced the first phase of the online registration for the NAFIS program initiatives aimed at accelerating the participation of Emiratis in the UAE’s private sector workforce.
The council said that Emiratis can now apply and explore opportunities and benefits provided by the program through the NAFIS website www.nafis.gov.ae, which was recently launched to serve as a partnership hub connecting Emirati professionals and companies operating in the UAE.
NAFIS is a federal program that was launched in September by the ETCC, under the leadership of its chairman Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan and its vice chairman Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The UAE will spend AED24 billion ($6.5 billion) on a package of benefits and subsidies designed to reduce citizen unemployment by making private sector-jobs more attractive.
The program aims to increase the competitiveness of the Emirati workforce and laying the foundations for Emiratis to fill 75,000 private sector roles within the next five years, covering approximately 15,000 jobs per year.
The five-year program takes a holistic approach to facilitating the private sector employment of Emirati citizens through the phased implementation of 11 initiatives that cover the recruitment journey.

Ghannam Al Mazrouei, secretary general of the ETCC, said: “With today’s launch, we extend an open invitation for Emiratis and all the private sector companies in the UAE to explore the remarkable opportunities and benefits of the NAFIS program.”
Emiratis who choose to participate in the NAFIS program may qualify for a salary support scheme, unemployment benefits, a merit program for selected professions, a child allowance scheme, and a pension program.
Participants are also offered on the job training. The newly launched platform allows Emirati professionals to register in minutes using UAE Pass, after fulling the eligibility criteria.
The NAFIS program is also open to private sector companies based on the eligibility criteria. The platform enables companies to signal their interest in participating in the program by offering job vacancies and vocational training programs.
