The UAE is set to announce the new petrol prices for May in the coming days.
Petrol prices across the country saw a slight increase In April, as costs for motorists increased for three consecutive months.
Prices have fluctuated in the past 12 months, with prices going up and down.
UAE petrol prices 2024
In April 2023, E-Plus 91 was priced at AED2.82 a litre, while diesel was set at AED3.03 a litre.
E-Plus 91 and Diesel are both now more expensive (at AED3.03 a litre and AED3.09 a litre).
Special 95 and Super 98 are also more expensive now than a year ago, rising from AED2.90 to AED3.03 a litre and AED3.01 to 3.15 a litre respectively.
From April 1, the cost of filling up vehicles in the UAE has been:
- Special 95 – AED3.03 a litre from AED2.92 in March
- Super 98 – AED3.15 a litre from AED3.03 in March
- E-Plus – AED2.96 a litre from AED2.85 in March
- Diesel – AED3.09 a litre from AED3.16 in March
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the Fuel Price Committee froze petrol prices in the UAE, preventing any changes.
However, in March 2021, as global oil prices began to rise, the controls were lifted to allow market forces to determine petrol prices once again.
Moreover, the fluctuation in petrol prices is also influenced by changes in crude oil prices worldwide.
