E-Plus 91 and Diesel are both now more expensive (at AED3.03 a litre and AED3.09 a litre).

Special 95 and Super 98 are also more expensive now than a year ago, rising from AED2.90 to AED3.03 a litre and AED3.01 to 3.15 a litre respectively.

From April 1, the cost of filling up vehicles in the UAE has been:

  • Special 95 – AED3.03 a litre from AED2.92 in March
  • Super 98 – AED3.15 a litre from AED3.03 in March
  • E-Plus – AED2.96 a litre from AED2.85 in March
  • Diesel – AED3.09 a litre from AED3.16 in March

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the Fuel Price Committee froze petrol prices in the UAE, preventing any changes.

However, in March 2021, as global oil prices began to rise, the controls were lifted to allow market forces to determine petrol prices once again.

Moreover, the fluctuation in petrol prices is also influenced by changes in crude oil prices worldwide.
