The UAE and the London-based World Energy Council (WEC) have discussed ways to enhance joint cooperation in the field of energy.
The two sides also considered various initiatives and plans for boosting bilateral energy cooperation at a meeting between Yousef Al Ali, Assistant under-secretary for electricity, water and future energy sector in the energy and infrastructure ministry, and Dr. Angela Wilkinson, secretary-general and CEO of WEC.
The initiatives and plans are to be adopted by the UAE National Committee to support the WEC system and further augmenting work in several areas of common interest.
The UAE official acknowledged the importance of the role of the council in deploying and applying the concept of energy for humanity.
The latest concept aims to design and implement initiatives to serve humans and societies with its three pillars – energy security, energy sustainability and energy affordability.
On her part, Dr. Wilkinson commended the UAE’s leading role in the field of global energy transition and security, and its pioneering initiatives in the field of clean and renewable energy.
