Saudi Arabia’s city of the future, NEOM, is currently being developed with mega-projects under construction such as The Line, Oxagon, Trojena, Sindalah and more. According to a senior executive, nearly 20 percent infrastructure at the futuristic urban development project has been completed with 80 percent still underway.

The mega-project has a central role as a catalyst in helping diversify the Saudi economy as a part of the kingdom’s Vision 2030.

Nadhmi-Al-Nasr, CEO of NEOM said that work is in progress as per schedule to deliver infrastructure as per proposed timelines, reported Al Arabiya.

“Life at NEOM is busy but thrilling, each day is different and working with some of the world’s most interesting and diverse minds is certainly inspiring,” Chris Newman, executive director, NEOM Hotel Development told Arabian Business, “We have more than 80 nationalities currently represented at NEOM, even my son recently noted to me how diverse his school is.”

With a project of this scale, there are multiple workstreams operating on different timescales, the first destination, Sindalah is expected to be completed in 2024 while majority of the construction of The Line will be completed over the next decade.

Last week, the mega project announced a major partner for THE LINE. Atkins, a member of the SNC-Lavalin Group, will join THE LINE – the 170km-long and 200m-wide sustainable mega-city being built in Saudi Arabia as a delivery partner organisation.
