Dubai’s KHDA says some schools to close on June 26

Some schools across the UAE will close for Eid Al Adha followed by summer break

Dubai’s Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) says that some schools are to close on June 26.

According to the KHDA academic calendar, schools were not to end the academic year until June 28. However, due to the predicted Eid Al Adha and Arafat Day holidays, some schools will be closed from Monday, June 26.

Eid Al Adha is predicted to fall at the end of June, with predicted dates of June 28, 29, 30, subject to the sighting of the moon by official authorities. Arafat Day has already been announced as a public holiday on June 27.

Students across the UAE will official break for Eid Al Adha followed by summer holidays during the months of July and August.

According to the Emirates Astronomical Society, Eid Al Adha will fall on Wednesday, June 28.

Alongside students, employees in the private and public sectors can also expect a six-day break for the Eid Al Adha period at the end of June.

According to Al-Jarwan, the new crescent for the month of Dhu al-Hijjah will be on Sunday, June 18 at 08:37 AM GST, and will have an age of 10 hours and 33 minutes by sunset on the same day.
