Korean firm LHE has teamed up with regional supplier Eurobase Trading in order to sell its plate heat exchangers in Middle Eastern markets.
Eurobase, traditionally a supplier of pipes, flanges and valves, has founded a new division for heat exchangers and will initially represent LHE in the UAE and Saudi Arabia.
Speaking of LHE’s plate heat exchanges, Eurobase Sales Manager Noaman Hussain said. “It is a great product but not such a competitive market. It is still very lucrative. We wanted to diversify out of the piping material because it is more of a generic product now. We wanted to specialise and decided that plate heat exchangers would be the way to go.”
Michael Lim, Director of LHE’s International Business Division, said the deal made sense for his company because of the growing demand for heat exchangers in the Middle East for oil and gas projects, power generation and desalination plants.
A contract has already been signed to supply LHE’s heat exchangers to the power and water desalination plant in Marafiq in Saudi Arabia. Bidding is still underway for the massive project in Shuaibah.
