M42, a global healthcare leader powered by artificial intelligence, technology and genomics, has announced a strategic realignment of assets with private equity firm Olive Rock Partners (ORP), designed to enhance focus and operational efficiency across their respective healthcare portfolios.
Under the agreement, M42 will take full ownership of United Eastern Medical Services (UEMS), which includes Danat Al Emarat Hospital, Moorfields Eye Hospital Abu Dhabi, HealthPlus Family Health, HealthPlus Diabetes and Endocrinology, and HealthPlus Diabetes Pharmacy.
In return, Olive Rock Partners will assume complete ownership of HealthPlus IVF and Women’s Health Abu Dhabi, including its pharmacy and genetics laboratory.
The deal, which was signed on 25 July 2025 and completed following regulatory approvals, marks a major step in strengthening M42’s position as an integrated healthcare provider while allowing Olive Rock to deepen its investment in fertility and women’s health.
Dimitris Moulavasilis, Group Chief Executive Officer of M42, said: “This strategic realignment is a purposeful step in M42’s growth journey. It simplifies our structure, strengthens alignment across our care delivery assets, and enhances integration for elevated system-level performance.
“Taking full ownership of UEMS strengthens M42’s portfolio and positions us well to continue serving our patients and communities with quality, personalised care. We thank Olive Rock Partners for their trusted partnership over the years and our continued collaboration.”
Abdullah Shahin, Founding Partner at Olive Rock Partners, said: “We see enormous opportunity to advance fertility and women’s health. This step allows us to build on HealthPlus IVF and Women’s Health Abu Dhabi’s strong foundation by investing in clinical excellence, talent and strategic transformation for regional leadership. It has been a privilege to co-own UEMS alongside M42 and advance care in the UAE across different care specialties. We wish M42 the best in leading UEMS during the next stage of UEMS’ journey.”
The transaction gives both organisations full control to pursue their strategic priorities. For M42, the integration of UEMS enables the company to scale data-driven, system-level healthcare delivery, advance innovation and improve patient outcomes across the UAE. For Olive Rock, the deal provides operational autonomy to grow HealthPlus IVF and Women’s Health Abu Dhabi into a regional leader in reproductive medicine.
Both parties confirmed that there will be no disruption to patients, employees or partners as the transition takes effect.
