Medical tourism is forecast to become an AED 7 billion industry for the UAE by 2010, a regional report has claimed.
Data released by the information center of Abu Dhabi’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ADCCI) has predicted the country’s percentage of medical tourists will rise by 15% annually, peaking at more than 11.2 million each year by 2010.
To capitalise on treatment tourists, the report recommends further investment in healthcare hubs such as Dubai Healthcare City, to boost regional appeal.
