Concept Group has revealed an aggressive expansion strategy, which includes plans to open offices in Qatar, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Abu Dhabi and Oman within the next three years.
Aldrin Fernandes, Concept Group CEO, said the company, which has seven divisions including Concept Outdoor, Media and PR, is keen to grasp advertising opportunities in the five countries, particularly in relation to outdoor advertising. The Abu Dhabi office will be opened in January.
“We want Concept Group in the next three years to be a leading communications and media group in the region,” he said. “I am extremely excited about these plans and I believe what we can bring to those markets is new and refreshing.”
The Abu Dhabi office will be staffed by eight to ten people from every area of the business. Fernandes described the emirate as “the next Dubai”.
“With the kinds of real estates projects that are coming up there and the kind of vision that Abu Dhabi now has, I think it’s definitely going in the right direction,” he said.
The firm then plans to open offices in Qatar and Bahrain.
“It’s easier for us to get into a smaller market because they welcome you better, they are more accessible and there is a lot more co-operation with the officials and the locals there, compared to larger markets where it’s more difficult.”
Although the firm views Saudi Arabia as “very exciting in terms of volume and size” and plans to open an office there, Fernandes said he saw strategic problems with operating in the country.
Concept Group currently has one office in Dubai Media City and its recent projects include the World Trade Centre building wrap, which was the second largest in the world and was commissioned by Emirates Post.
