Football icon Cristiano Ronaldo has purchased two ultra-luxury villas at Nujuma, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve Residence, cementing his personal connection with Saudi Arabia’s fast-growing Red Sea destination.

The homes, acquired alongside partner Georgina Rodríguez, form part of The Red Sea Residences portfolio developed by Red Sea Global. Located around 26 kilometres offshore, Nujuma is accessible only by chartered boat or seaplane and is among the most secluded luxury destinations in the world.

With just 19 ultra-private villas set across pristine white sands and surrounded by crystal-clear waters, Nujuma combines bespoke service with high-end design in a largely untouched natural environment. The residences sit within a pioneering regenerative tourism destination designed to go beyond sustainability and deliver a net positive impact on local ecosystems.

A new coastal home for Ronaldo

“The Red Sea is a truly remarkable place,” Ronaldo said. “From the moment we first visited, Georgina and I felt a connection with the island and its natural beauty – it’s a place where we feel at peace. Now we have a home here, we can enjoy quality time with family in complete privacy and serenity any time we like.”

Ronaldo and Rodríguez purchased two villas at Nujuma: a three-bedroom residence designed for family stays and a more intimate two-bedroom villa for private retreats. They were among the first buyers at the development, drawn by its privacy, exclusivity and natural setting, and are understood to be exploring further ownership opportunities within The Red Sea destination.

John Pagano, Group CEO of Red Sea Global, welcomed the couple to the community. “We are delighted to welcome Cristiano and Georgina to The Red Sea Residences community. Their decision to own here reflects the destination’s appeal among those seeking adventure with privacy, luxury with nature. We look forward to helping them discover all that The Red Sea has to offer,” he said.

Nujuma is one of just eight Ritz-Carlton Reserve properties worldwide, a brand reserved for the most exceptional and remote locations. The development forms part of The Red Sea, a flagship Vision 2030 project powered entirely by renewable energy and designed to achieve a 30 per cent net conservation benefit for local ecosystems by 2040.

The Red Sea destination now has 10 luxury hotels open, with Shura Island, its central hub, beginning phased openings of resorts, dining, retail and cultural experiences. Red Sea International Airport currently connects the destination with Riyadh, Jeddah, Dubai, Doha and Milan, placing the secluded retreat within reach of much of the world while preserving its sense of isolation.
