New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE), the nodal government agency for helping the country’s businesses to grow internationally, and LuLu Hypermarkets are teaming up to offer Saudi citizens a chance to taste the island country’s famed and varied food brands.
Christened as ‘Taste New Zealand Week’, LuLu Hypermarkets across three cities in Saudi Arabia – Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dammam – will offer consumers a chance to sample some of New Zealand’s top food brands, the New Zealand body said.
Part of the ‘Made with Care’ government campaign, the ‘Taste New Zealand Week’ is to run from February 26 till March 4.
LuLu will showcase products of six brands from the dairy, honey, meat, produce and snacks categories.
The brands will include Egmont Honey, Anchor, Justine’s Cookies, ManukaDoctor, Rockit apple and Silver Fern Farms.
Ahmad Zakkout, New Zealand’s Trade Commissioner for the Middle East and Africa said the event will be the first of such kind to showcase the country’s premium products to local consumers in Saudi Arabia.
The event aims to highlight the special connection that New Zealand producers have to the land and sea.
Visitors will be able to sample the brands on offer throughout the week-long event.

The island country is a world-class leader in the food and beverage industry, supplying products and ingredients to more than 140 countries.
LuLu has been providing a wide range and exclusive selection of products from across the world to consumers in Saudi Arabia since 2009.
Shehim Mohamed, Director of Lulu Hypermarkets in Saudi Arabia, said it wants to offer customers a variety of products that not only taste great, but most importantly are made of the highest quality ingredients.
“New Zealand products offer exactly that, and we are proud to have them as part of our offering,” he said.
