Damac Properties founder and chairman Hussain Sajwani has warned against a fraudulent website claiming to represent an investment company he owns.
A statement posted on Sajwani’s verified Twitter account said the website – www.sajwaniinvestmentgroup.com – is “deceptively presenting itself as an investment firm owned and managed by Mr. Hussain Sajwani.”
“The claim is false and should be treated as a fraudulent attempt to mislead investors,” the statement added.
According to the statement, international and UAE authorities, including Dubai Police, have been alerted about the fake website.
“Any individual or organisation conducting business with this firm through its website is doing so at their own risk,” the statement concludes.
As of Sunday morning, the website appears to no longer be operating and cannot be accessed from the UAE.
In 2016, Scamdex.com – a website which monitors and records e-mail scams – warned that fraudulent e-mails claiming to be from Sajwani were being sent out with false promises of funding for projects and business expansions.
