Insomnia Gaming Festival, the UK’s number one gaming event, is set to launch in Dubai as part of a multi-year partnership with Dubai-based Global Event Management (GEM).
The company is set to unleash a three-day gaming spectacular for the thousands of the region’s gamers from October 17-19 at Meydan Grandstand.
“As the fastest growing gaming market in the world, there is a huge appetite for gaming across the Middle East, and we’re very excited to bring something unique to Dubai this October with content that is made for the gamers, by gamers,” said Martyn Gibbs, CEO of Game Group UK, organisers of Insomnia UK.
Insomnia started 20 years ago and organisers said Insomnia Dubai aims to mirror the UK’s festival-style format and will host 14 of the most popular games for visitors to Turn Up & Play, as well as mobile gaming, VR, tabletop games, cosplay, esports finals, stage shows, and international guests such as Minecraft gaming Youtuber SeaPeeKay.
Competitive gaming enthusiasts can register for a chance to qualify for the Insomnia Dubai esports finals with a prize pot of AED500,000.
Insomnia Dubai will also feature Cosplay, with three categories already announced – The Insomnia Pro Cosplay Championship, The Insomnia Cosplay Competition and Insomnia Kids Cosplay Competition.

He said Insomnia is poised to be a gamechanger in the Middle East with a Gaming Festival also taking place in Riyadh on November 13-16.
Early bird tickets are available for a limited time and are priced at AED75 for a single day ticket, AED200 for a weekend ticket and can be purchased online through Virgin Megastore and Platinumlist.
