Astra Tech, a UAE based technology group has acquired BOTIM, the leading VOIP platform in the region, this move will lead to the launch of an ‘Ultra’ app.
The milestone adds to Astra’s portfolio in a string of acquisitions in 2022 including Rizek and Payby, the platforms will integrate into BOTIM to offer a range of services through a single integration.
BOTIM has 90 million registered users and 25 million active users. Additional plans for the platform are expected to be announced in the first quarter of 2023.
The relaunch is spearheaded by the founder of Astra Tech, Abdallah Abu Sheikh, it intends to reshape the boundaries of the digital ecosystem to combat customer fatigue.
“The need for an all-encompassing app accessible to all customers that can re-steer economics in the right direction while giving customers, merchants, and investors a fair deal is paramount. BOTIM will be the first of its kind in the region to simplify interactions of hundreds of millions of users, allowing them to engage and transact seamlessly. Acquiring BOTIM puts us on a path to continue our mission of disrupting consumer technology and building a global benchmark of what an Ultra-app should look like,” said Abdallah Abu Sheikh, Founder of Astra Tech.
The launch of the ultra app will be accelerated with the financial support of investors and Abdallah’s entrepreneurial experience.
By leveraging BOTIM’s strengths as the ultra app, which gained more popularity during the pandemic, Astra Tech aims to reach millions of users in record time.
