UAE telecom provider du has launched a new Travel eSIM designed for transit passengers moving through UAE airports, offering data connectivity across more than 190 countries.
The service begins with a free eSIM, after which customers can purchase data bundles according to their travel requirements.
Travel eSIM for global connectivity
The company aims to enter the Travel eSIM market while enhancing connectivity for transit passengers.
“Our Travel eSIM ensures that transit travellers can look forward to a seamless connectivity. It’s about connectivity and our mission to make travellers happier and their lives simpler.
The eSIM offers a completely seamless telco experience for the transit passengers to use the service at their final destination,” Karim Benkirane, Chief Commercial Officer at du said.
The setup process allows travellers to connect by scanning QR codes found on advertisements in airport transit areas while using the free WiFi.
Users are directed to a webpage where they can select from various data bundles based on their journey duration and data needs.
The eSIM is then sent via email for immediate activation upon arrival at their destination.
