Dubizzle Group aims to consolidate its automotive advertising offerings, introducing new products, and expanding its reach to better serve its customers.

Dubizzle has launched a new feature that aims at minimising online scams in UAE, the platform will now verify accounts with a ‘Badge of Trust’. The blue tick will help users identify spammers and scammers in an attempt to increase the trustworthiness of the platform.

The update enables users to apply for a ‘blue tick’ allowing them to stand out on the platform and connect with buyers and sellers. Verified accounts will also get priority from customer support on platform issues.

The process requires the user to upload Emirates ID or Passport scans and a selfie video to make sure the user and the identification uploaded match.

“Over the last few months, we have been conducting various experiments to understand the best way to approach authentication on dubizzle. As a result of this exercise, we were able to isolate some key pain points involving inaccurate and duplicate content,” said CEO of Bayut and dubizzle and the Head of EMPG MENA.

“The Verified by dubizzle badge is the one of the many steps in our ongoing efforts to combat scams and create a better user journey on dubizzle. We have a lot of other initiatives planned in the near future to take this to the next level and provide an even more comprehensive experience, where users have a lot more research material available before connecting with prospective buyers or sellers on the platform, he added.
