Microsoft said on Wednesday it will invest in cloud data centers in a new region of Saudi Arabia, as part of its ongoing efforts to empower public and private institutions around the world with smart and trusty cloud services to support their digital transition ambitions.

The announcement was made on the sidelines of the LEAP23 Conference in Riyadh.

The tech giant said its move on investment in the kingdom’s infrastructure is in response to clients’ increasing demand from local and international companies and the public sector for cloud services and data centers in Saudi Arabia.

The new cloud data center region will provide high-efficient and trusty performance and protection of the privacy of clients, besides high-speed access in the kingdom in parallel with Microsoft’s international cloud infrastructure.
