Saudi Arabia has launched the Attaa Digital Hackathon in Egypt, an initiative to strengthen partnerships with academic bodies and universities in the Arab region.

The three-day event, commenced on Monday, is organised by the Saudi ministry of communications and information technology (MCIT) and the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO).

ICESCO’s partners such as the Egyptian ministry of communications and information technology, the Egyptian IT industry development agency and RiseUp company are also part of the event.

The launch of the digital hackathon in Egypt followed the agreement signed between MCIT and ICESCO on December 8, 2021.

The event is for training of cadres and capacity building, besides motivating young people to share their ideas and compete to present the best solutions and proposals that serve the communities.
