Dubai International Airport (DXB) projects is set to welcome 4.3 million passengers through its terminals in the first 15 days of January, marking what officials say will be its busiest January on record.
The airport expects to handle 311,000 passengers on January 3 alone, setting a new daily peak for the month. The facility reports an average of 287,000 travellers per day during this period, representing an 8 per cent increase compared to 2024 and 6 per cent above pre-pandemic figures from 2018-19.
DXB is operating at volumes akin to its busiest months ever, demonstrating its ability to meet global travel demand with efficiency and ease, the airport said in a statement.
The surge stems from international visitors departing after the festive period, combined with residents returning from holiday breaks.
DXB, which holds the position of the world’s busiest airport for international passengers, continues to provide connectivity while maintaining its operations at scale.
