The Dubai Police fleet of cars is a covetable collection, with a wide range of high-performance vehicles. Dubai Police announced this month that the first electric car was added to the fleet. Some of these luxury cars are also driven by the force’s female officers.
Here are some of the cars in the fleet, keep an eye out for them around the city.
Lamborghini Urus
In celebration of the UAE’s 50th year anniversary, the Lamborghini Urus officially joined the Dubai Police fleet.
The sport utility vehicle is used to patrol city streets, powered by a four-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine with the white and dark green exteriors of Dubai Police.
“By adding supercars like the Lamborghini Urus to our fleet of luxury patrol vehicles, Dubai Police enhances the security presence of its officers during international events and across essential tourist destinations,” said Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police.


Hongqi E-HS9
The first electric SUV vehicle added to the fleet, this month. The new E-HS9 can run from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.0 seconds, and its battery can be recharged to 100 percent in about 6 to 8 hours. The E-HS9 electric vehicle can travel approximately 440 km on a charge.
“Through adding supercars within its fleet of luxury patrol vehicles, Dubai Police enhances the security presence of police officers across essential tourist destinations, including the Burj Khalifa, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard, JBR, etc.,” Expert Maj. Gen. Al Mansouri said.

Aston Martin Vantage
The Vantage features a custom number plate ‘77’, the 7 is a homage to the seven emirates as well as a nod to the association of Aston Martin with James Bond. The car Vantage has an acceleration of 0-100 km/hr time of 3.5 seconds, and supports a top speed of 314 km/hr.
“It is an honour to have an Aston Martin join Dubai Police’s fleet of supercars and the Vantage is the perfect model to make such a statement; purity at its finest, a hint of aggression and engineering that pushes it to upwards of 300 km/hr. Audi R8
”Al Nabooda Automobiles have a strong relationship with the Dubai Police and we are proud to see this premium fleet of Audi cars in their role to protect and promote traffic safety here in the UAE,” said Enrico Atanasio, Brand Director of Audi Middle East.
The Dubai Police fleet’s Audi R8 has a 5.2 litre V10 engine and 540 horsepower, with efficient fuel economy, up to 27 percent less fuel consumption as compared to previous models.

Bugatti Veyron
The addition of this car to the Dubai Police fleet has attained the record for the fastest police car in service, previously held by the Italian police force with the Lamborghini Gallardo.
The supercar holds a record for the fastest production car at a speed of over 407km/h. The car has a 16-cylinder engine that generates 1,000 horsepower, with an acceleration speed of over 100km/h in 2.5 seconds.

Aside from speed, Dubai Police’s strategy is to have a hybrid or electric cars constitute to at least 25 percent of its fleet by 2030.
The Dubai Police fleet of supercars has created a major buzz since the first announcement, it even has it’s own merchandise. Toys ‘R’ Us sells miniature car models for children or collectors.
