Dubai will sell off exclusive three-digit vehicle number plates at a private auction in the city.
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is offering 350 unique number plates of three, four and five digits for private and vintage vehicles as well as motorbikes bearing (A-H-I-J-K-L-M-N-O-P-Q-R-S-T-U-V-W-X) codes.
Registration of bidders for this 75th online auction is open now and bidding starts at 8am on Monday, April 22 and continues for five days only.
Dubai number plate auction
The selling of licence plates in this auction is subject to a 5 per cent VAT.
Each bidder is required to have a Traffic File opened in the emirate, submit a security cheque amounting to AED5,000 ($1,400) made to RTA, and pay an un-refundable participation fee of AED120 ($33).
Payment can be made at Customers Happiness Centres at Umm Al Ramool, Al Barsha or Deira, or by credit card via the RTA website.
