The development includes construction of bridges spanning 2,700 metres and expansion of the existing street by 11.6 kilometres.
RTA projects the improvements will reduce travel time from 9.4 minutes to 2.8 minutes, serving 400,000 residents and visitors.
“Al Qudra Street Development Project is one of the major projects undertaken by RTA to enhance the vertical (East-West) road network. It extends from the intersection of Al Qudra Street with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, passing through Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street, and continues up to Emirates Road. It serves several key development areas, including Arabian Ranches 1 and 2, Dubai Motor City, Dubai Studio City, Akoya, Mudon, DAMAC Hills, and The Sustainable City,” Mattar Al Tayer, Director General, Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) said.

“The project also includes upgrading the intersection of Al Qudra Street with Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street by constructing a 700-metre bridge with seven lanes in both directions. The upgrade includes auxiliary lanes for side ramps with two lanes each, ensuring smooth transitions in all directions without disrupting the mainstream traffic flow,” Al Tayer added.

The development will feature three kilometres of service roads along Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street, increasing capacity from 7,800 to 19,400 vehicles per hour and cutting waiting times from 393 to 60 seconds.
The project’s scope extends to expanding lanes along 3.4 kilometres of Al Qudra Street from Emirates Road to the existing roundabout.
A subsequent phase will add a 4.8-kilometre road in the southern developers’ area, connecting to Emirates Road.
