Dnata, a leading global air and travel services provider has facilitated the transportation of over 150,000 World Cup fans between Dubai and Doha during the opening two weeks of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
The team of ground handlers, passengers and ramp agents have facilitated the transport for the influx of World Cup fans through Dubai World Central (DWC).
With airlines operating shuttle flights between Qatar and nearby countries, Dubai has become an increasingly popular transit destination for fans attending matches.
dnata’s services between DWC and Doha has enabled more than 600 aircraft movements during the first two weeks of the World Cup. To execute this, over 270 passenger ramp agents were repositioned from Dubai International Airport (DXB).
Over 90 pieces of ground support equipment (GSE) are used to service the aircraft including zero-emission electric baggage tractors, conveyor belts and a push-back tug.

Last month, Arabian Business reported that Dubai Airports is set to see a surge in passengers at Dubai World Central (DWC) with the match day shuttle flights to Doha for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 set to begin from November 20.
Up to 120 match day shuttle flights operated by flydubai and Qatar Airways is expected to fly in and out of DWC everyday between November 20 and December 19. The terminal at DWC is equipped for 26.5 million passengers per annum capacity and is fully operational with the full array of services, food & beverage and retail outlets.
