Dubai’s Mall of the Emirates introduces new barrier-less parking system

The new system operates through licence plate recognition technology, which tracks vehicles upon entry and exit

Visitors have the option to link their accounts to the Parkin wallet system for expedited transactions

Mall of the Emirates has started a barrier-less parking system from today, whilst maintaining its existing parking fee structure.

The new system operates through licence plate recognition technology, which tracks vehicles upon entry and exit.

If parking fees apply, visitors receive an SMS with a payment link to a web-based platform.

“Our new seamless parking upgrade promises a ticketless and barrierless experience so you can efficiently enter and exit hassle-free without any delays or concerns about lost tickets,” the mall management said in a statement.

Visitors can park free of charge for up to four hours, following which parking rates will be:

  • 0 – 4 hours: Free
  • 4 – 5 hours: AED 20
  • 5 – 6 hours: AED 40
  • 6 – 7 hours: AED 60
  • 7 – 8 hours: AED 100
  • 8 hours+: AED 150
  • Weekends (Saturday and Sunday): Free

Visitors have the option to link their accounts to the Parkin wallet system for expedited transactions.
