The Mohammed bin Rashid Aerospace Hub (MBRAH) has signed an agreement with aerospace group, Tim Investment, to launch an MRO hangar at Dubai South that caters to servicing wide-body aircraft.

An MRO hangar is a specialised facility designed for the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of aircraft. It is a large, enclosed space typically located at an airport or an aviation maintenance facility, used by airlines, aircraft maintenance companies, and other aviation organisations to perform scheduled maintenance, inspections, repairs, and modifications on aircraft.

The groundbreaking of the new hangar will take place during the Dubai Airshow this year and construction is expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2025.

MBRAH: Elevating Dubai’s aerospace excellence

“This step positions us at the heart of Dubai’s flourishing MRO landscape, intensifying our dedication to fostering innovation and promoting excellence within the industry. We look forward to working closely with MBRAH on the new hangar,” Timor Shah Shahab, Founder and CEO of Tim Investment, said in a statement on Tuesday.

Tahnoon Saif, CEO of MBRAH, signed the agreement with Shahab at the Dubai South HQ on Tuesday. Several others were in attendance, including the Executive Chairman of Dubai Aviation City Corporation and Dubai South, Khalifa Al Zaffin.

“The agreement with Tim Investment underlines our ongoing commitment to fortifying the growth trajectory of Dubai’s aviation sector, and in attracting the top global players to establish their presence in the emirate as part of Dubai South’s dynamic ecosystem, which caters to the needs of businesses,” Saif said.

“We will spare no effort in supporting Tim Investment’s expansion into Dubai, and shall continue to contribute to cementing Dubai’s position on the world aviation map.”

MBRAH offers global aerospace players high-level connectivity and is a freezone destination for the world’s leading airlines, private jet companies, MROs, and associated industries.

It is also home to maintenance centres and training and education campuses.
