The Etihad Rail passenger train’s first look has been revealed by Emarat TV on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The video features grey seats, – some that recline and spin – carpeted floors, and more.

Etihad Rail had first revealed the exteriors of the train on UAE’s 51st National Day, which took place on December 2, 2022.

Etihad Rail, upon completion, will transport millions of passengers by 2030, significantly reducing travel time between cities.

With speeds reaching up to 200 kilometers per hour, Etihad Rail aims to cut travel time between emirates in half.

While an official start date for passenger operations has yet to be disclosed, the rail company has projected that by 2030, more than 36.5 million passengers will be using their services annually, as stated in a December 2021 announcement.

The upcoming passenger service will offer swift journeys, with stations spanning from Sila near the Saudi border to Fujairah on the East Coast.

Commuters will have the opportunity to travel from Abu Dhabi to Dubai in just 50 minutes and from Abu Dhabi to Fujairah in a mere 100 minutes, the statement read.
