A Saudi aviation services provider will announce new purchase agreements with “industry icons” during the Dubai Airshow.

National Air Services has also promised to publicise additional leasing contracts next week. No further details were given.

Taher Agueel, who recently joined NAS as president, said the deals will support the company’s growing operation.

“The value of our announcements will reflect the level of commitment we have towards the development of the aviation services and markets across the region,” he added. “The company grew with the Dubai Airshow and it is a privilege to be part of its success.”

Agueel is responsible for expanding NAS’ fleet during the next five years. He will also oversee the company’s listing on the Tadawul Exchange in 2008. Once completed, NAS will be the first aviation company to join the market.

Riyadh-based NAS operates 47 aircraft, including A320s, Gulfstreams, Falcons and Hawker-Beechcrafts. It leases planes to the commercial and private sectors.
