Abu Dhabi today announced the inauguration of the bilateral linkage of the traffic systems between the UAE and Qatar, according to Emirates News Agency (WAM).

UAE-Kuwait interlinked traffic violations

In October 2022, Arabian Business reported that the UAE and Kuwait also interlinked their traffic fine system.

A UAE citizen or resident who commits a traffic violation during their visit to Kuwait will be required to pay the fine upon return to the UAE, the fine will amount to the currency equivalent and is applicable to both personal and rental vehicles.

Similarly, any Kuwaiti citizen or resident who visits the UAE and commits a traffic violation will be obliged to pay the fine upon return to Kuwait, where the data will be recorded under the title External Violation.

The Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior made an announcement in September 2022, about a meeting with the UAE, the meeting was set in between technical teams to link traffic violations between the two countries and the technicalities for registering and collecting the violation electronically.

Once the fine is collected in the country of residence, it will automatically be sent to the Traffic Violations Collection Department towards the fine recorded in the country of violation.

According to the Kuwaiti newspaper, Al-Qabas the automated linking process for violations and their collection between the two countries will be activated as a first step in early December, i.e. after 3 months.

In August 2022, Abu Dhabi also announced fines on bicycles and e-bike violations, the fines will range from AED 200 to AED 500 for non-compliance of safety regulations, said ITC and Abu Dhabi Police.

These initiatives come as part of ongoing efforts in the country to implement safety and security standards to minimise risks, as a surge is observed in the use of public and private transportation.
