Chef brings the X-factor to F&B

Speaking exclusively to
Caterer Middle East, Viratsakul revealed that the X-factor came down to ‘keeping things simple’.

“We have a simple philosophy here: happy staff, happy customers,” he said.

A main point of interest at the property so far has been the innovative non-alcoholic beverage menu, offering drinks such as the ‘Tea Mocktail’.

The residence’s F&B manager Jorden Chong explained: “We do not have a licence to sell alcohol so we decided to do something a little bit different.”

“Tea tasting may be different to wine tasting, but it is also a lot of fun developing something new and something very different.

“We had a lot of fun mixing teas with spices, herbs and juices to create some really unique beverages.”

‘Chef X’, who assumed his moniker after watching Japanese cartoon heroes as a youngster, added that although the beverage offerings and new menus formed a big part of the property’s appeal, the real X-factor lay with the staff.

“We teach all our staff the importance of being passionate and to work in this mould together,” he said. “If they want to work in my kitchen they must have that willingness to adapt, learn and develop themselves.”
