Inbound tourists spent more than SR141bn ($37.6bn) in Saudi Arabia in 2023, according to the Ministry of Tourism.
According to the ministry’s 2023 annual tourism statistics report, the largest chunk of this, more than SR45bn ($12bn), was spent on accommodation, more than SR25.5bn ($6.8bn) on shopping, and about SR21.5bn ($5.7bn) on local transportation.
Expenditure on food and beverages reached SR19.4bn ($5.2bn), other outlays went beyond SR25.5bn ($6.8bn), and spendings on entertainment reached SR4bn ($1.1bn).

In 2023, KSA welcomed more than 27 million international tourists who spent more than SR141bn ($37.6bn) in the country, while domestic and international tourists surpassed 109m that same year.
