Robbie Williams is planning to build a hotel in Dubai, according to media reports in the UK.

The former Take That pop star has had more than three decades of chart-topping success, but now plans a move into the Dubai real estate and hospitality sectors says the Sun newspaper.

The reports claim Robbie Williams is developing a purpose-built venue where he can perform gigs for residents and tourists in Dubai.

Quoted in the newspaper report Robbie Williams said: “I don’t think I will be going back to Vegas, but I am currently building my own hotel so I can do my own gigs in my own hotel.

“I am taking the opportunity to dream even bigger. I have achieved everything I have achieved without even dreaming big.”

Williams, 48, has previously had a lucrative performance residency contract at the Las Vegas Encore Theatre. It was cut short due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but the residency gigs could be on the agenda for Dubai in the future.

The report quotes Robbie Williams as saying: “I have an accessibility to people because of my name and if I have a good idea they will back me.

“So, I am really excited about that and there are loads of things that are taking my fancy now to see if I can pull something remarkable off and the hotel idea is one of them.

“It is a remarkable thing to pull off and I will be proud of it when it happens.”

Robbie Williams is no stranger to the UAE having played concerts and hotel gigs in the emirates before.

Most recently he held an art exhibition at Sotheby’s Dubai.

From November 30 to December 16 last year paintings by the singer-songwriter were on sale at the auction house and artspace in Dubai’s DIFC Gate Village.

He has also been linked with a performance at the opening of the Atlantis The Royal hotel at the end of the month.
