MSC Splendida, the luxury mega cruise ship has arrived at the kingdom’s waters in an inaugural visit to the Saudi Port, as part of Cruise Saudi’s third cruise season which is set to run from November 2022 to May 2023.
As part of global cruise traditions, the ship’s inauguration visit to a port a plaque and key exchange ceremony was held. Throughout the cruise season, the ship will make weekly halts at both Jeddah and Yanbu Port along cruise itineraries which includes Egypt and Jordan.
The visits of these cruise ships to the kingdom are in line with the goals to transform Saudi into a premier global cruise destination.
MSC Splendida has a capacity of 4,300 passengers and over 1,000 crew members with a myriad of activities available including swimming pools, jogging track, squash court, gym, spa and sun deck.
“We are pleased to welcome MSC Splendida to Saudi – the fourth ship from MSC Cruises to sail Saudi waters since Cruise Saudi launched the industry less than two years ago. We look forward to welcoming more renowned global cruise ships and passengers to discover and experience Saudi – the newest player in the cruising arena – by land and sea as part of our newly launched season,” said Dr. Hani Gharbawi.

Prior to this event, Saudi Arabia welcomed three other MSC Cruise ships, MSC Orchestra, MSC Virtuosa and MSC Bellissima.
