The UAE has announced major visa changes for Indian nationals looking to visit the country.

The Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP) announced the changes as it makes it easier for Indians to visit the UAE.

Currently, the UAE offers a visa exemption for Indian nationals holding residency in the EU, the US and the UK. This will now be extended to include holders of tourist visas to the EU, the US and the UK.

Furthermore, there can be extension of the period of stay after paying the necessary fees so long as the visa and passport are valid for no less than six months.

Major General Suhail Saeed Al Khaili, Director General of the ICA, stressed that granting Indian nationals holding visas from the EU, the US and the UK comes within the framework of the long-term strategic partnership between the UAE and India.

There is a mutual desire for both countries to further strengthen long-standing economic and trade relations, attract capital, entrepreneurs, talents and experts, in addition to supporting the UAE’s position as a global tourism and economic hub.
