The trails are categorised into four difficulty levels: Green, Blue, Red, and Black, each offering various cycling and walking routes.
“In line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, the Hatta Mountain Trails project has been developed to enhance the quality of living in Dubai and position it as the most active and healthy city in the world. Our ambition is to implement initiatives that serve the Hatta area, establishing it as a leading tourist destination for residents and tourists,” Dawoud Al Hajri, Director-General of Dubai Municipality said, adding that the trails meet health and safety standards.
The project was completed in two phases. The first phase, executed in 10 months, involved expanding and maintaining existing trails and stabilising soil.
The second phase included constructing rest stops and installing signage.
The trails traverse diverse terrains, including rocky paths, mountainous areas, and valleys, offering views of the area’s landscape.
