Dubai Properties Group (DPG) said on Monday it has allocated plots in many of its master developments to accommodate a total of eight new mosques.
These will be added to the existing residential amenities in Business Bay, Ghoroob, Al Khail Gate and The Villa among other communities, the developer said in a statement.
The mosques will be developed reflecting the Islamic architectural heritage and will serve DPG residents by offering prayer halls for men and women, the statement added.
Designs are now in the final stage for three mosques planned for construction in Business Bay while The Villa mosque is currently in the handover stage.
The Villa mosque will be able to hold more than 200 people and will include an imam room, a mo’azen room as well as a parking lot to accommodate residents and visitors.
Sahar Al Ansari, director of real estate management at DPG, said: “We remain committed to increasing the value and comfort offered in our various communities and districts.
“These mosques will cater to the needs of many of our residents and visitors by providing them with a space to practice their religion. DPG has allocated 181,560.93 sq. ft. of land for the construction of these mosques and is aiming to have them complete within 18 months.”
