Emaar Properties has begun handing over residences at its luxury, five-star development at Makkah’s Abraaj Al-Bait complex.

The properties, built by subsidiary Emaar Middle East, offer breath taking views over the Majid Al-Haram, which is one Islam’s two holiest sites.

The 316 residences are located within the Fairmont Hotel, itself part of the Makkah Clock Tower, which at 601m is the world’s tallest hotel. The building is said to be visible from up to 17km away.

“It gives us tremendous pride to commence the handover of homes in Emaar Residences at Makkah Clock Tower during the holy month of Ramadan,” commented Ahmad Al-Matrooshi, managing director of Emaar Properties.

“These five-star serviced apartments – a first of its kind in the Kingdom – are designed to provide an inspiring experience for residents, who visit or stay in the holy city of Makkah,” he added.

The serviced apartments at the development range from studio to three-bedroom apartments and are targeted at pilgrims and families eager for a home in the Islamic holy city. The residences range in size from 40 sqm to 230 sqm.

Services such as housekeeping, maintenance and concierge are provided by Fairmont Hotels & Resort.

Emaar’s other projects in Saudi Arabia include Jeddah Gate, a master-planned community in Jeddah, and Al Khobar Lakes, a multi-billion dollar luxury waterfront development in the Eastern Province.
