The UAE cybersecurity authority has issued an important alert on Wednesday regarding a vulnerability detected in Google Chrome.
The council advises to ensure that browsers are updated to avoid compromise and ensure complete protection.
The alert was shared via the authority on Twitter, the caption read, “Important Alert: An urgent security vulnerability has been detected in #GoogleChrome that has already been exploited, potentially leading to application crashes or arbitrary code execution. The Cyber Security Council advises updating your browser to ensure complete protection.”
The post further detailed that Google recently released a version 117.0.5938.132 to address a critical security vulnerability. The vulnerability supposedly allows attackers to exploit the VP8 video codec’s encoding to install spyware or execute remote code.
