Modelling superstar Bella Hadid has given her strongest suggestion yet that she is ready to quit the profession at the age of just 20.

In an exclusive interview for the October edition of Harper’s Bazaar Arabia, Hadid tells the magazine: “It’s not very giving, being a model, it doesn’t warm your heart. It’s not as rewarding for the soul as most things.”

She began her modelling career just four years ago, and signed with IMG Models in 2014. Last year she was voted “Model of the Year” at Models.com and with 15 million followers on Instagram, has become one of the hottest ever properties in the industry.

But in the interview, she speaks out strongly over the issues that face young women, saying: “It’s really tough. You’re going to get scrutinised for anything that you do. So if you’re skinny and have a sick body and don’t have a butt, people are going to say ‘Why do you have no butt?’ And then you go and get a fake butt and they get mad at you because you have a fake butt. And then you don’t have b..bs, and it’s just a whole circulating circle."

Hadid also admits in the interview that her real passion is horse riding, having “wanted to ride horses my whole life.”

Were Hadid to walk away from modelling, it would be a huge loss to the industry – she is one of the most bankable stars on the runway, including working as an ambassador for Dior Beauty, Bulgari and TAG Heuer.
