Darwish credits much of her success to her father, Mohsin Haider Darwish, the founder of one of Oman’s most successful conglomerates, Mohsin Haider Darwish. Now part of the successful family business, Darwish manages the automotive division and internal audit and computer systems arms. As part of the senior management, Darwish is actively involved in the decision making process charting business strategies and operational plans that align objectives with corporate goals.

Darwish is a firm supporter of women in business and believes “women have certain strengths over men, like compassion, better instincts [and] the ability to remain cool under pressure.” As a result she thinks “more and more women managers are likely to come up in Oman,” and she is “very proud to be one of the early success stories.”
