Ferguson moved to Dubai in 1998 and was appointed as general manager for Brookfield Multiplex on the iconic Emirates Towers project. He was then promoted to managing director of Brookfield Multiplex’s Middle East and Asia business, where he continues to evolve and shape the company. He has been instrumental in the firm’s regional expansion and growth, which now has offices in Qatar, KSA, and India.

During his time in the Middle East, John Ferguson has overseen a succession of major projects including: The Gate Building and The Index at Dubai International Financial Centre; Dubai Marina’s first six towers; a range of hotel schemes including Grosvenor House, W Doha Hotel, the Westin Abu Dhabi Golf Club, and Eastern Mangroves resort in Abu Dhabi, as well as iconic structures such as Emirates Towers and the JW Marriott Marquis.
